Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems, AI, and sensor fusion. The Maritime Division is building next-generation autonomous underwater vehicles and platforms including Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry systems.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 4-10 engineers responsible for delivering software integrated into autonomous maritime products. Your scope includes autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and command-and-control systems. You will own end-to-end outcomes for major software systems throughout their entire product lifecycle—from architecture and design through delivery, support, and evolution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating end-to-end outcome ownership of major systems and the teams building them
- Empathizing with end-users and balancing their needs against multi-stakeholder constraints
- Architecting scalable software that rapidly delivers capability beyond current platforms
- Coordinating team roadmaps and execution across Anduril to develop reusable components
- Managing a 6-18 month roadmap and allocated budget for your team
- Managing programmatic and technical risk with sound decision-making
- Leading by example as a technically competent, trustworthy team lead
- Communicating organizational vision, strategy, and direction to your team
- Building your team through mentoring, professional development, and career management
- Contributing to design, implementation, and execution of development processes including full lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operation
- Traveling up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and other teams
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; proven management experience in a high-performing technology organization; extensive professional software engineering experience across one or more domains; and capacity to lead teams working holistically on software-enabled capabilities across the full stack and lifecycle.
