Salary: USD 258,000 - 376,000 / annual
Figma is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead a team building AI capabilities across its core design platform. You'll manage a diverse team of engineers responsible for developing and advancing AI-powered features that help designers work faster and more intuitively. This is a 0→1 role where you'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, AI Research, and Data Science teams to define strategy and execute a roadmap for AI-powered user experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing a team of engineers focused on AI product development
- Hiring, mentoring, and retaining exceptional talent while fostering innovation and collaboration
- Partnering with cross-functional teams (Product, AI Research, Data Science) to define strategy and drive roadmap execution
- Identifying opportunities to apply emerging AI technologies to improve user experience
- Driving 0→1 innovation by translating ambiguous ideas into production-ready features
- Contributing to Figma's diversity and inclusion initiatives through equitable hiring and team development
You should have 3+ years of experience leading high-performing engineering teams, proven success building and scaling AI-powered product capabilities in fast-paced environments, and a track record of driving 0→1 product development. Experience with generative AI, RAG, fine-tuning, and creative product applications is a plus, as is comfort analyzing product analytics to identify investment opportunities.
