Salary: USD 191,000 - 253,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Manager of Security Software Engineering to lead a team responsible for developing foundational security components across the company's defense technology products. You will manage a software security engineering team within the Product Security organization, setting technical direction for security architecture, design, and implementation that spans all Anduril products.
Key responsibilities include leading and growing the team to develop and mature the security tooling roadmap, establishing technical standards for code quality and operational excellence, and balancing long-term platform investments with high-leverage projects. You will collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement critical security tooling and build resilience into products. The role requires managing career development, hiring, and performance for team members while ensuring reliable delivery of complex software projects.
You should possess both strategic vision and technical depth, maintaining active involvement in security architecture and implementation. Required qualifications include proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Golang, Rust, or Python; experience building, testing, and delivering production-ready internal tools and infrastructure; and hands-on experience with embedded and/or Linux systems. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills are essential, including the ability to gather requirements from non-engineering stakeholders and translate business needs into technical plans.
Preferred qualifications include experience building endpoint detection and response solutions, factory automation for secure key handling and provisioning, programmable logic devices, product or platform security backgrounds, exposure to compliance frameworks, and a track record of building and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
