Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Production Maintenance Manager to lead and develop the maintenance team at its Costa Mesa manufacturing facility. This role is critical to scaling production operations while ensuring maximum equipment uptime, implementing world-class preventative maintenance programs, and supporting line commissioning across the growing production landscape.
You will lead, recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance specialists (electrical, mechanical, PLC, and other disciplines). You'll conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, develop work schedules, and foster a strong safety culture within the maintenance department, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures including LOTO, confined space, and hot work protocols.
On the operations side, you'll develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. You'll oversee reactive maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, utilize and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and manage spare parts inventory to balance availability with cost optimization.
You'll analyze maintenance data (downtime, MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions. You'll drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, participate in capital project planning for new equipment installations and facility improvements, and stay current with emerging maintenance technologies and best practices.
Collaboration is essential: you'll work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety departments to align maintenance activities with production schedules and plant objectives. You'll manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, and ensure all activities comply with company policies and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). You'll participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and compliance.
