Salary: USD 57,850 - 65,050 / annual
Remote is a global HR platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. This role leads a high-volume, regionally aligned onboarding operations team supporting employee onboarding across multiple countries in the AMER region.
As Manager of Onboarding Operations, you will own people leadership, delivery quality, compliance, and operational performance across the employee onboarding lifecycle. You'll manage a team of Onboarding Operations Specialists, creating an inclusive, high-performing environment while maintaining service standards and operational targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and mentoring the onboarding operations team
- Owning team performance, delivery quality, and achievement against operational targets
- Managing all aspects of people leadership: motivation, feedback, performance reviews, difficult conversations, and conflict resolution
- Acting as escalation point for complex onboarding and operational challenges
- Collaborating with managers globally to drive operational change and maintain regional alignment
- Using data to track team performance, capacity, quality, and risk
- Continuously identifying and implementing process improvements
- Serving as subject-matter expert on global employee onboarding and escalations
- Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate workflows
- Leading adoption of AI and automation tools within the team with appropriate training and oversight
- Partnering with operational excellence, data, and technical specialists to define requirements and support implementation
- Measuring whether changes improve efficiency, accuracy, quality, capacity, employee experience, or customer outcomes
The role reports to the Senior Manager of Onboarding Operations and is fully remote, with flexibility to work asynchronously across time zones.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated people-management experience in a high-volume operational environment
- People-first leadership approach: builds trust, empowers others, takes accountability for team performance
- Experience developing scalable operational processes while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and employee/customer experience
- Understanding of employment and/or labour laws, benefits, payroll processes, and employment contracts across multiple countries, or ability to learn quickly
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and ability to communicate clearly during complex or sensitive situations
- Strong operational judgment balancing compliance, team capacity, service quality, and scalable delivery
- Comfortable using data to make decisions, monitor performance, identify risks, and recommend improvements
- Comfortable using AI and automation tools to improve productivity, service quality, and operational consistency
- Ability to identify repetitive work and process friction suitable for automation or AI-assisted workflows
- Experience leading change and helping teams adopt new tools or ways of working
- Ability to partner effectively with technical, data, or automation specialists
- Sound judgment in responsible use of AI, including data privacy, security, compliance, accuracy, and appropriate human oversight
- Calm under pressure; able to hold difficult conversations, resolve conflict, and escalate appropriately
- Pragmatic, flexible, able to operate independently in fast-paced, international, high-growth environment
- International people operations or HR generalist experience well regarded
- Fluent English; additional language fluency a bonus
- Remote work experience considered a plus but not required
