CesiumAstro is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead and scale the mechanical engineering organization. This role combines people leadership with technical direction across multiple aerospace and space programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and developing a high-performing mechanical engineering team
- Establishing robust engineering processes and best practices
- Ensuring successful execution of program deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
- Providing both strategic technical direction and hands-on technical leadership
- Serving as a senior technical authority for complex mechanical systems and hardware development
- Leading mechanical design and development across the full product lifecycle—from concept through in-orbit support
- Supporting business growth initiatives and influencing product roadmap decisions
- Developing and mentoring engineering talent
The role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with proven team leadership capabilities who can balance strategic program management with deep technical expertise in aerospace systems. You will work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment on cutting-edge satellite communication systems, UAV platforms, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne applications.
