Salary: USD 152,100 - 190,100 / annual
Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility. This Manager role leads the Manufacturing Test Engineering organization, overseeing two dedicated teams responsible for aircraft-level functional and end-of-line testing during manufacturing.
You will build and mentor a high-performing engineering team ensuring every aircraft meets strict performance, integration, and system-level standards before delivery or flight testing. Key responsibilities include:
• Leading two teams across Test Operations & Execution and Test Development & Design to support daily production and next-generation automation
• Driving end-to-end testing across avionics, low-voltage, and high-voltage systems, managing ATP authoring, floor execution, and airworthiness compliance records
• Collaborating with Design Engineering early in development to incorporate Design for Testability (DFT) and co-validate system test plans
• Establishing the manufacturing test roadmap from low-rate initial production to full-rate production, optimizing test capacity, coverage, and cycle times
• Leading design, capital planning, and qualification of test stands, fixtures, GSE, and automated test equipment
• Driving the transition from manual to automated test execution, including automated data collection and test analytics
• Hiring, mentoring, and developing test engineers and technicians with focus on rigor, safety, and continuous improvement
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, or Manufacturing) with 8+ years testing complex electromechanical hardware. 3+ years directly managing engineering teams including team building, performance management, and resource allocation. Experience developing manufacturing and test documentation (work instructions, BOPs, process standards). Background in designing, procuring, and qualifying test equipment and GSE. Hands-on experience with test automation (Python, LabVIEW, TestStand), aircraft communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, ARINC 429), and reading complex schematics. Experience supporting conformity and inspection activities.
Bonus qualifications include scaling eVTOL, UAV, or advanced air mobility test operations through high-rate production ramp, and direct experience with FAA conformity & certification processes and AS9100 quality standards.
