Scimplify is a VC-backed specialty chemicals manufacturing company (500+ employees, offices across India, USA, Japan, China, UAE, Indonesia) transitioning from a B2B fulfillment platform to a capability-owned manufacturer. The company serves pharmaceutical, agrochemical, industrial chemicals, personal care, and home care sectors, exporting to 30+ countries.
This role is an entry point into international business development, structured as a two-year grooming track. You will be paired one-to-one with a US-based business development lead and jointly own growth for a category or region. Success in this role typically leads to running a category or region independently within five years.
Key responsibilities include: owning the India-side execution for US-facing categories or regions; driving commercial execution (quotation turnaround, sample cycles, technical response, order-to-delivery visibility); orchestrating across R&D, supply, quality, logistics, finance, and business intelligence to unblock customer commitments; building the data layer (pricing logic, specifications, lead times, manufacturing partner capability, competitive intelligence); researching adjacent products, applications, and customer segments to identify new opportunities; and traveling to visit customers and manufacturing partners.
The company explicitly screens for three qualities in order: integrity (honest quoting, delivery commitments, and technical assessments—the foundation of trust in a chemistry-driven business); energy (self-directed initiative to build processes, make calls, and learn markets without templates); and intelligence (first-principles reasoning about customer problems and data-driven decision-making). Commercial temperament, customer curiosity, and evidence of self-directed learning outside formal education are valued.
This is not an analyst role—you will be in front of customers and plant owners. The position requires comfort with ambiguity and willingness to build processes from scratch.
