IonQ is a leading quantum computing platform company (NYSE: IONQ) headquartered in College Park, Maryland, with global operations across North America, Europe, and Asia. The company develops quantum computers and integrated quantum solutions for customers including Amazon Web Services and AstraZeneca, with applications in drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, and cybersecurity. This is a hands-on, player-coach Manager role within the US Accounting Team. You will own the global intercompany accounting process across IonQ's growing portfolio of domestic and international legal entities. The position combines direct execution of monthly intercompany close and transfer pricing entries with responsibility for designing scalable processes, systems, and controls that support the function as the company scales. Key responsibilities include: **Intercompany Close & Transfer Pricing:** Own the end-to-end monthly intercompany close, including preparation and review of intercompany journal entries, cross-charges, and cost allocations. Calculate and book transfer pricing entries (cost-plus service arrangements, markups, IP/royalty charges) in accordance with IonQ's transfer pricing policies. Partner with Tax and external advisors to translate transfer pricing policy into operational accounting entries and support annual transfer pricing documentation. Reconcile intercompany balances between entities and manage periodic intercompany settlement and netting cycles with Treasury. **Consolidation & Foreign Currency:** Prepare and review intercompany eliminations for monthly consolidation. Account for FX remeasurement and translation on intercompany balances, including long-term-investment-nature designations under ASC 830. Support standalone legal entity financials and coordinate with local accounting providers on statutory reporting for international subsidiaries. Support accounting integration of newly acquired and newly formed entities. **Process, Systems & Automation:** Build and document scalable intercompany processes, calendars, and policies. Drive intercompany automation within OneStream, including automated intercompany transactions, elimination logic, and multi-book/multi-currency configuration. Identify root causes of recurring intercompany discrepancies and implement upstream fixes. Train and support entity controllers and business partners on intercompany requirements. **Controls, Audit & Compliance:** Design, document, and execute internal controls over intercompany and consolidation processes. Serve as primary intercompany contact for external auditors, preparing schedules and supporting documentation. Research and document accounting positions on intercompany, consolidation, and foreign currency matters under US GAAP (ASC 810, ASC 830). The role is based at the College Park, MD office with the option to work a few days per week remotely. Travel up to 10% (domestic or international) is expected. **Requirements:** - BS/BA in Accounting or Finance - 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including intercompany accounting in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment - Hands-on experience preparing intercompany eliminations and supporting a consolidated monthly close - Working knowledge of transfer pricing concepts and ability to translate transfer pricing policy into accounting entries - Strong understanding of US GAAP, including consolidation (ASC 810) and foreign currency (ASC 830) - Experience designing and operating internal controls in a SOX or SOX-readiness environment - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to work with large data sets and build repeatable analyses - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain intercompany requirements to non-accountants across geographies - Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment **Preferred Qualifications:** - CPA or equivalent certification - Experience with a Big Four accounting firm or other national accounting firm - Hands-on experience with OneStream, NetSuite (particularly OneWorld), multi-book accounting, and automated intercompany management - Public company experience, including SEC reporting timelines and SOX 404 compliance - Experience supporting international subsidiaries and coordinating with local statutory accountants and auditors - Experience integrating newly acquired entities into an existing accounting and consolidation structure - Demonstrated success automating manual accounting processes and reducing close cycle time - Willingness to take on challenges and think constructively to solve problems
