Key responsibilities include: - Leading and developing a team of engineers and applied scientists focused on agents operating at scale - Owning end-to-end delivery of high-quality AI systems from research exploration through production-grade reliability - Navigating the unique challenges of shipping AI products: balancing quality, latency, cost, and safety - Driving evaluation and iteration practices for AI systems, defining quality bars and building offline/online evaluation pipelines - Supporting career growth through coaching, feedback, and fostering a culture of experimentation and learning - Participating in hiring and shaping the team as the organization grows You bring deep expertise in AI/ML (LLMs, RAG, semantic search, agentic systems, NLP, or deep learning), strong people-management skills, and experience taking AI products from 0 to 1. You're well-versed in evaluation methodologies for AI systems and have a strong product instinct for anchoring early-stage work in concrete customer problems. A BS/MS/PhD in ML, CS, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience is expected. Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace, valuing office culture and collaboration while supporting work-life harmony.
