Motive is seeking a hands-on Manager of Hardware Reliability Engineering to lead the Taipei-based reliability team. You will define reliability strategy across the product lifecycle and partner globally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and product teams to turn field insights and data into more robust connected-device products. Key responsibilities include: • Set reliability strategy and direction by defining multi-quarter hardware reliability strategy, team goals, success metrics, and ownership model. Translate ambiguous risks into actionable plans and represent Hardware Reliability in design, launch, and leadership forums. • Drive reliability across the product lifecycle by partnering across Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems, Product, and TPM teams to define requirements, test plans, qualification coverage, and exit criteria. Lead failure-mode analysis, design-for-reliability reviews, reliability growth, and risk-based decisions from concept through sustaining. • Improve field and production quality by connecting design validation, manufacturing data, returns, support signals, and field failures to drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and data-informed improvements to process capability, supplier quality, test coverage, and product robustness. • Build and develop the team by hiring, coaching, retaining, and developing a high-performing Taipei-based reliability engineering team. Establish scalable standards, documentation, and review mechanisms, plan resources, and remove execution bottlenecks. • Influence globally by building trusted partnerships across Taipei, San Francisco, India, and other global teams.
