Passport is seeking a Manager of FP&A to build upon and enhance the company's financial planning and analysis capabilities. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will initially operate as a hands-on individual contributor working directly on management-level reporting and strategic analysis, with the expectation to scale the FP&A function by building out analyst support within approximately six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop revenue forecasting models across multiple products, incorporating stakeholder inputs, operating drivers, and business implications.
- Build labor and non-labor forecasts (professional services, software, travel, entertainment, operating expenses) and connect them to three-statement financial models.
- Run quarterly forecast cycles, refresh models, map accounts, and ensure operating assumptions flow correctly through P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Partner with the FP&A Director to build management-level reporting, expand analytical depth, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Define data requirements, identify source systems, and coordinate with RevOps, Data, Product, Operations, and Finance Systems teams to collect and validate inputs.
- Build scalable monthly reporting and model drivers from approximately 500,000 monthly shipments by integrating Salesforce, internal data lake, ERP, and other finance-system data.
- Investigate product margin performance at transaction, jurisdiction, and shipping-lane levels (including taxes and duties) and provide recommendations for margin improvement.
Success Milestones:
- 30 days: Shadow key workflows, document processes, and absorb business, systems, and stakeholder relationships.
- 60 days: Take ownership of recurring monthly work and build or improve reporting and processes.
- 90 days: Establish documented operating routine, control day-to-day work, and understand company trajectory and FP&A goals.
- 6 months: Own monthly and quarterly FP&A processes, drive assigned projects independently, and begin supporting analyst hiring.
- 12 months: Own full monthly and quarterly FP&A cycles with analyst support, and partner on annual planning and strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Five to seven years of FP&A experience with strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and management reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using AI to build financial models, develop prototypes, analyze data, and automate data flows (AI experience is required).
- Ability to work from outcomes rather than step-by-step instructions; capacity to take incomplete models or 20–30% starting points and drive to complete, defensible solutions.
- Experience managing business partners across functions and communicating with senior leaders; direct executive experience is helpful.
- Strong data fluency and ability to define requirements and coordinate workflows across teams. Experience with QuickBooks or NetSuite and BI platforms (Tableau, Looker, or similar) is helpful.
- Big Four experience or FP&A experience in a public-company environment is preferred. Direct shipping or logistics experience is not required.
- Curious, self-directed, collaborative working style with judgment to work independently and discipline to communicate assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
