Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a Manager of Engineering Software to lead the Trading Engineering team in London. This role sits at the intersection of sports betting, real-time risk management, and sophisticated trading systems—core to FBG's mission to build a world-class digital sports platform.
You will lead a team responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable systems that power FBG's sportsbook and iGaming operations. Your responsibilities include mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation, and collaborating with Product Management, Quants, and other engineering leaders to develop user-first solutions. You'll use data and metrics to guide team decision-making, champion continuous improvement, and actively reduce technical debt while improving system performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead team exploration of new technologies and practices
- Mentor and develop team members; support career growth and leadership development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Quants, and other engineering leaders
- Oversee development of scalable, reliable systems
- Build strong partnerships to influence product strategy and technical direction
- Communicate complex technical and business ideas to stakeholders and executives
- Stay current with industry trends and bring fresh ideas to elevate team performance
- Occasional travel for offsites and collaboration sessions
Required experience:
- 2+ years of engineering leadership with proven ability to mentor and inspire technical excellence
- 7+ years of software development, particularly with .NET/C# or similar technologies
- 3+ years designing cloud-native systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
