Iterable is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team building agentic and AI-powered product experiences within the Nova initiative. This role manages a cross-functional group of frontend, backend, and applied engineers focused on conversational workflows, orchestration layers, and AI-enabled product surfaces that integrate into the core Iterable platform. You will balance people leadership with strong technical judgment, guiding engineers to deliver high-quality features while navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving AI product area. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting the engineering team, partnering with Product, Design, and Data Science to translate AI capabilities into scalable user-facing experiences, and guiding the design and implementation of agent workflows and orchestration logic. You will ensure AI-powered features are reliable, observable, secure, and production-ready. You'll drive execution across multiple initiatives, balancing short-term delivery with sustainable technical direction, and foster strong engineering practices around code quality, testing, documentation, and iterative delivery. Mentoring and coaching engineers on career growth and team dynamics is essential, as is collaboration with other engineering and data teams on interfaces, dependencies, and shared goals. You'll contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team scales. Required qualifications include at least 5 years of hands-on software development experience and 3+ years managing and growing software engineering teams. Strong background in application or platform engineering in SaaS environments is expected, along with experience leading teams that integrate AI/ML capabilities into production systems. You should be comfortable operating at the intersection of product, platform, and data science teams, with strong technical judgment in system design, APIs, distributed systems, and developer workflows. Experience with modern backend and frontend stacks, ability to navigate ambiguity and drive execution, and excellent communication skills aligned with business and product goals are critical.
