Bugcrowd is seeking a hands-on Manager for its AI and Data Science team to lead a high-performing group developing data-driven and AI-powered systems that enhance offensive security capabilities. The role splits focus between technical execution (70%) and people management, with responsibilities spanning technical strategy, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities include defining and driving the technical roadmap for AI, ML, and data systems; leading, mentoring, and growing a small team of data scientists and ML engineers; directing the full lifecycle of data pipelines, model training, and AI/ML applications; guiding development, tuning, deployment, and MLOps of machine learning models for cybersecurity; architecting and optimizing large-scale data pipelines for processing vulnerability, asset, and activity datasets; collaborating with infrastructure teams on secure, scalable AI workloads in multi-tenant and regulated environments (FedRAMP, SOC2); serving as technical subject matter expert across security research, product, and platform teams; establishing best-in-class MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring; and overseeing design of robust, high-availability APIs for LLM agent integration.
Required qualifications include 5+ years in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Data Engineering with 2+ years in technical leadership; strong architectural understanding of LLM technologies, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and secure API integration; deep expertise with Python, AWS services (S3, Lambda, Batch, Glue, Bedrock, Step Functions, Redshift), and ML frameworks; proven experience leading teams to build and deploy end-to-end ML pipelines; ability to design secure data-driven architectures for large-scale, multi-tenant, high-security environments; and excellent communication and mentoring skills.
