Mind Robotics is seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead the end-to-end electrical architecture for advanced robotic systems deployed in industrial settings. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will personally drive schematic design, PCB layout, and low-level fault isolation while also mentoring and scaling the electrical engineering team.
You will own the robot's complete electrical architecture spanning power distribution, motor actuation, high-speed sensing stacks, compute integration, and harness design. You'll establish and enforce electrical design standards, review schematics and layouts, and make critical trade-offs across signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermals, and cost. Working closely with mechanical, firmware, and perception teams, you'll translate product requirements into hardware specifications and integrate complex sensor stacks.
Key responsibilities include leading system-level electrical bring-up and root-cause debugging from the lab bench, establishing scalable workflows for design reviews and ECO discipline, and driving design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) initiatives. You'll collaborate with PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers to secure second-source components for production ramp.
Required qualifications include a technical degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) with 8+ years of full-cycle board development for complex robotic, automotive, or electromechanical systems. You must be a first-principles engineer who actively designs and debugs hardware rather than managing purely from a distance. Deep hands-on experience with EtherCAT for distributed actuation and sensing is essential, along with mastery of power electronics/motor drives or sensor/mixed-signal front-ends. You should have strong expertise in high-current power architectures, EMI/EMC mitigation, high-speed serial interfaces, and enough firmware literacy to debug hardware boundaries. Proven experience mentoring engineers and managing multi-board hardware projects through volume manufacturing is required.
