Pattern is a fast-growing ecommerce acceleration platform that helps global brands optimize and automate growth across 60+ marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, Target, eBay, Tmall, TikTok Shop, JD, Mercado Libre, and others) using proprietary technology, AI, and 66+ trillion data points. The company has been recognized by Deloitte as one of the fastest-growing tech companies in North America and by Inc. as one of the best-led companies. As Manager, DTC Business, you will own the shipping program for Pattern's direct-to-consumer business end-to-end. This is a business-owner role with full P&L responsibility, not a coordinator position. Key responsibilities include: **Carrier Management & Negotiation**: Manage relationships with national, regional, and last-mile carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, regional providers). Lead rate negotiations and contract renewals using volume forecasts, zone/service-level mix, and benchmark data. Evaluate and onboard new carriers and services. **Delivery Speed & Network Strategy**: Drive growth in two-day-or-less delivery as new facilities come online. Make decisions on inventory placement, injection points, cutoff times, and carrier-to-building assignment. Set and track delivery promise accuracy, on-time performance, transit time by lane, and cost per shipment. Optimize the speed-versus-cost tradeoff. **Label Purchasing & Shipping Logic**: Understand and impact business rules for label purchasing and service selection. Work with Product to design, test, and ship improvements to rate shopping, service selection, and label timing. Partner with warehouse operations to align timelines and prevent missed shipments. **Customer Experience Escalations**: Serve as escalation point for Customer Support on carrier and program performance. Find root causes and implement permanent fixes. Manage carrier claims and service-failure recovery. **Program, P&L & Metrics**: Own the shipping P&L including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and cost-reduction roadmaps. Build and maintain scorecards for leadership (cost per package, delivery speed mix, on-time rate, claims rate, customer contact rate). Report regularly to senior leadership with clear recommendations. You will report to the VP, Supply Chain and collaborate closely with Product, Warehouse Operations, Customer Support, and Finance. The role offers visibility to leadership and the opportunity to make decisions at the intersection of carriers, technology, and operations. As the network grows, so does your scope. **Requirements:** - 4–8 years of experience in parcel logistics, carrier management, transportation, e-commerce fulfillment, or supply chain - Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Hands-on experience with UPS, FedEx, USPS, and regional/last-mile carriers, including zones, surcharges, dimensional weight, accessorials, and contract structures - Experience negotiating or directly supporting carrier agreements with ability to build data-backed cases - Comfort with shipping systems (label APIs, rate shopping, carrier integrations, order flow) and ability to communicate with engineers and product managers - Strong SQL and Excel or Google Sheets skills; you build your own analyses and are comfortable owning a P&L - Ownership mindset: take problems from first symptom to permanent fix with clear communication across operations, support, finance, and executives
