Salary: USD 150,000 - 160,000 / annual
Ascendis Pharma, a dynamic global biopharmaceutical company advancing programs in Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology, seeks a Manager of Commercial Asset Management & Operations to oversee the end-to-end management of commercial materials and field assets across U.S. brands.
This role manages the complete lifecycle of print and physical commercial assets—from approved content and production planning through distribution, replenishment, retirement, and compliant destruction. You will maintain visibility into active, expiring, obsolete, and discontinued materials to support timely business decisions, coordinate asset updates associated with launches and labeling changes, and establish consistent asset management processes and governance.
Key responsibilities include:
**Commercial Asset Management:** Oversee print and physical asset lifecycles; maintain material visibility; coordinate updates for launches and brand revisions; partner cross-functionally to ensure approved materials are available; support modular content coordination within Veeva PromoMats.
**Print Production:** Manage end-to-end production of promotional, educational, and field-facing materials; coordinate specifications, quantities, schedules, proofs, and approvals with stakeholders, agencies, and vendors; review printer proofs; address quality, cost, and scheduling issues; support production planning for launches and critical milestones.
**Warehousing, Inventory & Fulfillment:** Oversee third-party warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment, distribution, and compliant destruction; manage field ordering and direct-to-representative fulfillment programs; monitor inventory and utilization; coordinate material rework and relabeling; manage patient starter kits and patient-support resources including distribution to specialty pharmacy partners.
**Commercial Operations Project Management:** Lead cross-functional projects from initiation through closeout; develop project plans defining scope, deliverables, milestones, owners, dependencies, and risks; facilitate meetings and maintain action logs; coordinate activities across Commercial Operations and partner functions; identify risks and facilitate escalation; support launch readiness initiatives; develop repeatable project management tools and governance processes.
**Vendor Management:** Serve as primary operational contact for print, warehousing, fulfillment, and logistics vendors; establish operating expectations and service levels; monitor vendor quality and performance; partner with Procurement and Finance on vendor selection, contracting, and budget tracking; identify opportunities for efficiency and cost improvement.
**PRC Coordination:** Manage OPDP submission execution across brand portfolio; lead PRC agenda planning and facilitation; serve as primary liaison for Veeva PromoMats IT requests; provide backup support for PRC Process Lead responsibilities.
**Field Support & Communication:** Serve as primary contact for field inquiries regarding materials, ordering, inventory, and fulfillment; provide timely communication on new materials and availability; troubleshoot ordering issues; develop job aids and training materials; gather field feedback; coordinate field onboarding and offboarding; administer field ordering platforms; review and resolve orders outside established guidelines.
**Operational Excellence & Compliance:** Ensure asset production, storage, fulfillment, and distribution follow company policies, SOPs, and promotional requirements; maintain documentation for internal controls and inspection readiness; establish and monitor performance measures; analyze operational trends and recommend improvements; support continuous process improvement.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, operations, project management, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial operations, marketing operations, print production, asset management, fulfillment, project management, or related function
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or another regulated industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing print production, warehousing, inventory, fulfillment, logistics, or field asset programs
- Strong project management capabilities with experience managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders, deadlines, risks, and dependencies
- Experience managing external vendors, budgets, service expectations, and operational performance
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical promotional material workflows and compliance requirements preferred
- Experience with Veeva PromoMats, field-ordering platforms, inventory or fulfillment systems, and Microsoft Office
- Project management or process improvement certification (PMP, Six Sigma, Scrum, Agile) a plus
- Experience with user acceptance testing, training, platform administration, and operational issue resolution preferred
