Freshworks is seeking a Manager of Business Development to lead the Business Development team in the DACH region. This is a player-coach role where you will architect sales development playbooks, master AI-powered sales technology, and lead a team of Business Development Managers to drive growth and disrupt the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive all aspects of inbound and outbound sales development, collaborating with cross-functional teams to generate qualified opportunities
- Train, mentor, and lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), ensuring they develop effective time management and maximize productivity
- Work with sales managers and representatives to align with regional territory plans and maintain tight feedback loops on lead quality and qualification
- Conduct weekly meetings and 1:1s to keep teams on track toward goals and exceed targets
- Provide detailed analysis and reporting on team performance, tracking key metrics such as qualification and conversion rates, and provide forecasts to sales leadership
- Collaborate directly with Marketing teams to define campaign strategies, ensure campaign success, and provide feedback based on real-world prospect and customer interactions
- Drive an AI-first approach to go-to-market strategy, leveraging automation, intent data, and buying signals
The role is based in the Berlin office with a hybrid setup (3 days in office) or fully remote from anywhere in Germany.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience building and leading high-performing Business Development teams
- Familiarity with sales intelligence tools; experience using data enrichment and intent data tools to build highly targeted outbound lists
- Data-driven approach to performance management
- Relentless focus on continuous improvement, constantly iterating on email copy, call scripts, and cadences to optimize conversion rates
- Expert understanding of key top-of-funnel metrics (meeting hold rates, SQL conversion, pipeline value) and ability to accurately forecast team performance
- Strong communication skills: positive and energetic, excellent listening, strong writing, team-player mentality, people management, hands-on leadership style
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in execution
- Fluency in English and German
