Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator serving 4+ million Canadians with $155B+ in assets under administration, is seeking a Manager of Brokerage Platform Operations (General Ledger). Reporting to the Director of Brokerage Account Operations, you will own and scale brokerage general ledger processes, sitting at the intersection of Operations, Finance, and Engineering.
Your core mission is to safeguard ledger integrity, ensure regulatory audit readiness, and systematically improve core brokerage processes. The Brokerage Operations team manages the engine behind Wealthsimple's brokerage services, ensuring billions of dollars move seamlessly, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading cross-functional efforts to ensure accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting for all client transactional data
- Investigating data anomalies entering the general ledger and tracing root causes to design automated, long-term solutions
- Coordinating operational deliverables for brokerage audits (SOC, FinOps, MFRs) and maintaining robust process documentation
- Monitoring internal and external ledger transfer bookings and handling exception cases promptly
- Partnering with Engineering to automate manual workflows, reduce operational risk, and support new product launches
- Mentoring team members while designing process improvements that reduce manual burden and eliminate single points of failure

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in brokerage or broker-dealer accounting, finance, or ledger operations
- Direct general ledger experience operating an in-house or non-outsourced ledger day-to-day
- Cross-functional fluency with the ability to communicate technical requirements to Engineering and accounting logic to Finance
- Experience with regulatory oversight, such as Monthly Financial Reports (MFRs) or SOC audit support
NICE TO HAVE:
- Hands-on experience mapping software systems like Oracle GL or NetSuite
- Hands-on experience using SQL
