Join Brex as Manager of Banking Operations, leading a team at the center of how money moves through the platform. You'll oversee payment monitoring across Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, and stablecoins, managing exceptions, escalations, and complex real-time decisions. Your responsibilities include coaching and developing a team of Banking Operations analysts, setting priorities, and building a high-accountability culture grounded in sound judgment and strong documentation standards. You'll build scalable operating frameworks for onboarding, quality assurance, escalation management, and coverage planning that improve consistency as the team and business grow. A key focus is advancing Brex's AI-native goals by identifying high-impact use cases, driving thoughtful AI adoption, and partnering on tools and workflows that improve speed, quality, and control. You'll work closely with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and external banking partners to strengthen controls, resolve issues quickly, and support operational readiness for new workflows and product changes. Drive continuous improvement by identifying root causes, refining procedures, and advancing automation that increases throughput without compromising control quality. Translate frontline insights into clear reporting and actionable recommendations for leadership, surfacing trends, risks, and process gaps that matter to the broader Banking Operations strategy. You'll be based in the New York City office in a hybrid environment requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to four weeks per year of fully remote work available. Required: 5+ years in US banking operations, payments operations, compliance operations, or related function in a bank, fintech, or regulated financial services environment. 2+ years of people management experience with a track record of coaching employees and building strong, accountable teams. Working knowledge of high-risk money movement workflows and payment rails such as wires, ACH, checks, SWIFT, or similar transaction monitoring environments. Practical fluency with AI tools such as Claude, Hex, Granola, and Glean, with strong perspective on where AI can improve team effectiveness and operational scale in control-heavy environments. Strong judgment and ability to assess risk, make sound decisions under pressure, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
