Exotec is seeking a Maintenance Performance Engineer to own the performance and reliability of Exotec automation systems deployed at client warehouse sites across North America. This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta with significant travel (up to 60%) to client sites.
You will be responsible for analyzing system performance, diagnosing root-cause issues, and executing performance improvement plans to meet uptime targets. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning end-to-end performance of Exotec systems at assigned client sites
- Analyzing performance data and creating actionable improvement plans
- Serving as level 2 escalation for non-core product issues (third-party conveyors, etc.)
- Diagnosing and resolving interoperability issues directly with clients
- Planning and executing site software and system updates
- Coaching on-site technicians on best practices to support uptime targets
- Proposing and driving maintenance procedure improvements across North America and globally
- Engaging with R&D and product teams on specific maintenance challenges
- Collaborating with client contract engineers and site managers on monthly performance reporting and client requests
You will work as part of the client team, balancing technical problem-solving with strong customer service and communication. The role requires comfort with regular client interaction, travel coordination, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of robotics maintenance experience, ideally in industrial automation, materials handling, warehousing, and/or logistics sectors
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering
- Broad knowledge of software, mechanical, and electrical engineering
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with problem-solving orientation
- Customer service mindset and ability to communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others
- Willingness to travel up to 60% to client sites across North America
