Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 / annual
IPSY is a beauty subscription platform serving millions of members through curated sample-size and full-size beauty subscriptions. The company operates a 575,000 sq. ft. automated fulfillment center in Belton, Missouri.
The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance and facilities function at this distribution center, owning the reliability, safety, and performance of conveyance and automation systems, material-handling equipment, building infrastructure, and the technician team. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and strategic partnership with Operations leadership and other departments to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Track and assign daily maintenance and preventative maintenance inspections and repairs using the Maintenance Management System
- Investigate and dispatch corrective actions for facility and distribution equipment (Hytrol conveyance, PLCs, Cognex Scanners, automatic seal applicators, print and apply printers)
- Perform scheduled and daily maintenance on distribution equipment such as material handling equipment and conveyors; coordinate with third-party vendors
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety requirements, hazardous materials handling, and company policies
- Prepare department documentation including work logs, equipment check sheets, and preventive maintenance records
- Communicate major problems, concerns, and equipment issues to the Senior Director of Operations, facility partners, and vendors
- Lead the maintenance team and develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare-parts inventory, and vendor relationships
- Work on-call to support operational needs
The role reports to the Senior Director of Distribution Center Operations and requires on-site presence in Belton, MO, with the ability to cover all shifts as needed.
Physical demands include exposure to warehousing equipment hazards and varying temperatures, flexibility to travel to other fulfillment centers and locations, regular standing/sitting/talking/hearing, moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), and work from heights including roof access.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required (Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, or related technical field preferred)
- 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment-center environments, performing preventive maintenance and mechanical/electrical repairs in automated environments; experience using and managing CMMS platforms required
- 3+ years minimum experience supervising or managing maintenance technicians (directly leading 3+ mechanics) with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, spare-parts inventories, and vendor relationships
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause-analysis skills
- Proven troubleshooting and repair skills for high-voltage electrical, mechanical, and preventive maintenance on buildings and material-handling equipment (conveyors, motors, sensors, controls, related systems)
- PLC/WCS programming and troubleshooting experience
- Basic PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, and safe maintenance practices
- Ability to work on-call and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced operations
