Divergent 3D is seeking an Advance Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between design/manufacturing engineering and production teams. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role focused on developing scalable, high-reliability automated machining, assembly, anodize, inspection, and cleaning processes for aerospace and defense programs. You will lead daily production execution, working directly with the production floor to resolve issues and ensure steady throughput. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing best practices, processes, and calibration procedures to improve operational capacity; monitoring WIP flow and utilization; and acting as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting production issues and refining processes. On the technical side, you'll collaborate on CNC programming for 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis mills using Siemens NX CAM software, provide advanced feedback on GD&T, tooling, feeds/speeds, and fixturing, and introduce standardized strategies and documentation to improve consistency and reduce cycle time. You'll leverage metrology and inspection expertise to drive quality assurance. Process development and scalability are core to the role. You'll lead efforts to integrate new machines and equipment into production, co-drive design-for-manufacturing conversations with manufacturing engineering, develop innovative fixturing strategies for complex additive-manufactured geometries, and support integration of automated machining technologies. Continuous improvement is essential: analyze production data to identify trends and inefficiencies, implement corrective actions, create detailed documentation for consistency across shifts, and collaborate with software and data teams to integrate production metrics into real-time dashboards. The role is hands-on and requires standing for long durations, working directly with hardware on the floor, and comfort with stooping and bending. Occasional travel and weekend work may be required. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience - 8+ years of experience in aerospace or defense industries - Hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing, robotics, coatings, and inspection/quality - Direct experience with machining, additive manufacturing, coatings, and inspection/quality - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Siemens NX, AutoCAD) - Advanced knowledge of CNC machining, structure assembly, GD&T, tooling, and metrology - Experience evaluating, selecting, and commissioning machines to meet manufacturing capabilities - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to innovate in fast-paced environments - Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork - Ability to work on multiple projects and initiatives in parallel - Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls PREFERRED: - Master's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering - Experience with robotic machining systems and calibration methodologies - Experience with manufacturing automation in automotive or aerospace environments
