Salary: USD 220,000 - 292,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company's Lattice OS is an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. You will join the Frontier AI team, building edge-compatible, generative AI systems into the Lattice software platform. Your work will directly improve autonomy and reduce cognitive burden on warfighters through applications including automated mission planning, battle-space understanding, voice-controlled assets, and higher levels of autonomy. Key responsibilities: - Distill and fine-tune transformer architectures for deployment on edge devices and compute-denied environments - Propose and prototype LLM-based agentic systems solving real-world military problems using state-of-the-art techniques - Develop and maintain mission-relevant benchmarks - Work cross-functionally across business lines to discover and scope new research problems Required qualifications: - BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field - 5+ years developing and benchmarking ML algorithms - Production experience pushing and maintaining ML algorithms - Strong Python skills with ML frameworks (PyTorch) - U.S. Person status (required for access to export-controlled information) Preferred qualifications include experience fine-tuning transformer models, deploying deep-learning models to edge/air-gapped environments, and prior defense tech or startup experience.
