As a Machine Learning Engineer II, you will contribute hands-on to the development of services and pipelines that enable ML/AI features in PagerDuty's product. You'll collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to accelerate the development and extension of products powered by generative AI and other machine learning approaches.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and improving capabilities that enable production ML and generative AI solutions
- Partnering with data scientists to share engineering context and support larger initiatives
- Incorporating best practices for shipping ML capabilities to production
- Continuously optimizing workflows and reducing technical debt
You will work across multiple organizations, taking input from senior stakeholders while helping bring initiatives to reality. Success requires strong time management, emotional intelligence in navigating stakeholder relationships, and continuous improvement of technical skills.
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years building, designing, and shipping ML solutions to production
- Proven software development experience with Python
- Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, database design, ETL processes, unstructured data handling, and cloud-based data infrastructure
- Ability to stand up infrastructure for ML processes (data exploration, model training, deployment)
Preferred qualifications include experience working with product teams on timely delivery, exposure to large language models and generative AI, and experience with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
