The Machine Learning team is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to develop, refine, and scale the core AI Agent that automatically addresses and resolves shopper requests. This role bridges machine learning research and production engineering, requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to ship reliable systems at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
**Machine Learning:** Own feedback loops, observability, and continuous training for deployed models across Hugging Face, Vertex AI, and multiple LLM providers. Work on agentic LLM systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and NLP classifiers. Solve product-facing problems using classical NLP and modern LLMs. Maintain the ML team's data pipeline (BigQuery, dbt). Stay current with advances in mathematics and computer science.
**Engineering:** Write clear technical specifications and implement scalable solutions using domain-driven design. Maintain existing services and own the full development lifecycle. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, software engineers, and product managers to deliver ML as a service. Analyze post-release performance and drive iterative improvements.
The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience building and operating LLM applications, RAG systems, agentic workflows, and NLP classifiers. You'll need strong Python proficiency, familiarity with modern ML/software engineering frameworks, and GCP experience is valued. A Master's degree in a STEM field is required. Excellent English communication skills are essential for articulating complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
