Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Low Observables Engineer to join the Air Dominance and Strike Low Observable Team. This role focuses on advancing next-generation low observable (LO) technology to enhance the survivability and effectiveness of unmanned air systems.
You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and sustaining stealth features that reduce radar cross section (RCS) and infrared (IR) signatures, ensuring systems remain undetectable in contested environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design and development of low observable unmanned air vehicles
- Performing broadband RCS analysis of components and full air vehicles using industry-standard tools
- Developing analysis tools, workflows, and validation processes for RCS analysis
- Modeling and optimizing LO materials for component and vehicle integration
- Contributing to manufacturing and validation plans for LO air vehicles
- Planning and executing RCS testing of LO air vehicles and components
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with LO aircraft design and development
- Proficient knowledge of LO design, analysis, and validation methodologies
- Hands-on experience with RCS analysis tools (X-Patch, SENTRi, McMoM2D, FEKO, HFSS, CST, or equivalent CEM packages)
- Familiarity with LO material modeling and design
- Experience with LO airframe design, coating integration, and subsystem integration
- Proficiency with CAD software (NX, CATIA)
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods including composites, 3D printing, casting, and injection molding
- Experience with indoor and/or outdoor RCS testing of LO components and air vehicles
- BS or higher degree in STEM discipline
- Must possess and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
Preferred qualifications include experience with LO material design and manufacturing, LO edge manufacturing techniques, LO aperture design and analysis, RCS flight testing, Tier 1/2 inspection tools, and scripting (Matlab, Python, C++).
