Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Low Observables Engineer to join the Air Dominance and Strike team in Costa Mesa, California. This role focuses on advancing next-generation low observable (stealth) technology for unmanned air systems, with emphasis on reducing radar cross-section (RCS) and infrared (IR) signatures. Key responsibilities include: - Design and development of antennas for low observable unmanned air vehicles - RF performance simulation and optimization while maintaining RCS requirements - Requirements decomposition through link-budget analysis for RF system architecture trades (antenna gain, pattern coverage, co-site interference) - Lead internal R&D development of antenna designs through rapid prototyping to support emerging program needs - Integration of antenna systems onto unmanned platforms in collaboration with subcontractors and internal teams - Development of analysis tools, workflows, and validation processes for antenna predictions - Planning and execution of antenna performance and RCS testing for low observable components and installed systems Required qualifications: - 3+ years of R&D experience in RF and antenna engineering - Strong RF fundamentals (aperture antennas, impedance matching, Smith charts) - Proficiency in antenna prototyping tools and techniques - Experience with electromagnetic modeling tools (HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, SENTRi, ADS, FEKO) - Proficiency building RF analytical tools in MATLAB, C++, or Python - Hands-on antenna measurement experience (anechoic chamber, near/far field, RCS measurements) - BS or higher in STEM discipline - Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance (required and maintainable) Preferred qualifications include experience with low observable aperture design, phased array systems, RF front-ends, hands-on LO aircraft maintenance, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, autonomous environments.
