Carma is a digital pre-owned car dealership disrupting the Australian automotive industry with a seamless, hassle-free car buying experience. The company manages engineering, marketing, buying, and reconditioning in-house with a collaborative team.
As Logistics Senior Lead, you will own end-to-end vehicle flow performance across Carma's entire production system. This is a high-impact operational role based at the Granville site where you will lead a newly formed team and truck fleet, managing on-site vehicle movements, site transfers, and fleet allocation to balance dynamic demand across teams.
Key responsibilities include:
• Scheduling & Movement Flow: Act as the operational lead for logistics, owning the calendar, rostering, and allocation for internal and external fleets across Sydney metro to maximize truck efficiency and hit throughput targets.
• Root Cause Resolution: Monitor daily operations to spot disruptions early and investigate underlying operational breaks rather than treating surface-level symptoms.
• Process & Continuous Improvement: Interpret movement data and operational reports to refine work methods, eliminate waste, and elevate turnaround performance in line with Carma's guidelines.
• Fleet, Safety & Compliance: Maintain high standards across the fleet by enforcing pre-start checks, scheduled maintenance, WHS guidelines, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) practices.
• High-Performance Leadership: Lead, roster, and grow the onsite and driver team—managing day-to-day admin, building capability through feedback, and setting clear expectations for peak performance.
• Cross-Departmental Alignment: Manage dynamic vehicle demand across Buying, Sales, Wholesale, and Operations, hosting regular standups and team meetings to stay aligned on shifting needs.
You will track movement metrics to set performance baselines with precision, consistency, and speed, ensuring strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and WHS standards while applying a sharp continuous improvement mindset to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize workflows.
Requirements:
• Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced production or automotive environment
• Ability to drive performance through people, not just manage tasks
• Strong capability in setting expectations, holding standards, and addressing underperformance
• Experience building team capability to improve output, quality, and flow
• Confidence operating on the floor—engaging, directing, and supporting teams in real time
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying root causes
• Exposure to lean/continuous improvement environments (highly regarded)
• Ability to prioritize and adapt in a high-output, fast-changing environment
• Working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, mass and load restraint (TLIF0009 or willingness to complete)
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Valid NSW Driver's Licence
