Reserv is an insurtech company founded by insurance veterans and backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures. The company builds AI and automation technology to modernize claims handling for third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance technology providers, and adjusters. You will manage litigated auto insurance files and serve as the primary driver of litigation strategy. Your responsibilities include investigating and gathering claim documentation, evaluating liability and damages, negotiating settlements with opposing parties, and managing litigation cases through mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings. You will attend trials and conferences as needed, maintain electronic files, analyze defense counsel performance, and report regularly to the Claims Manager. A key aspect of this role is collaborating closely with Reserv's product and engineering teams to provide feedback on technology and process improvements—helping shape the future of claims automation. You will also manage relationships with defense counsel, coverage counsel, experts, and independent adjusters, directing their activities and controlling associated costs. You should be highly motivated, growth-oriented, and excited about building a tech-driven claims organization. The ideal candidate is empathetic, curious, creative in problem-solving, and comfortable with conflict when it's conversational rather than adversarial. You will exercise strong judgment independently in a remote environment, manage time-sensitive demands, and communicate professionally with all stakeholders. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree (not strictly required if other qualifications are strong) - 10+ years of claim handling experience, with at least 5+ years handling a pending caseload of >60% in litigation - Active insurance adjuster's license in a designated home state or home state - Transportation litigation experience (rideshare, auto, trucking) preferred; personal lines experience acceptable if other requirements met - Strong understanding of transportation coverages, contractual risk transfer, and additional insured forms - Strong medical knowledge - Ability to manage legal aspects of litigated cases, including evaluation of legal process and expenses - Comfortable directing and managing outside counsel and vendors; not intimidated by attorneys - Strong analytical and negotiation skills; ability to conduct direct negotiations with opposing counsel - Knowledge of multiple state statutes, good faith claim handling practices, regulations, and guidelines - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment with strong attention to detail and time management - Willingness to travel for client and claims needs - Motivated by problem-solving, continuous learning, and questioning the status quo
