Jerry is an AI-powered platform helping Americans manage their cars, homes, and motorcycles—simplifying buying, insuring, maintaining, and selling physical assets. The legal team operates across the US and Canada, handling entity filings, IP protection, product compliance, consumer escalations, and audits.
As Legal Operations Associate, you will report directly to the Legal Counsel and own core legal operations across the company. This is a high-impact role in a small, lean team where your work directly enables the business to scale.
Key responsibilities:
- Automation: Deploy AI and low-code tools to replace manual legal tasks with self-running workflows, multiplying team capacity.
- Legal and regulatory projects: Partner with Legal Counsel on contract reviews, legal research, and substantive projects as they arise.
- Entity compliance: Manage corporate entity filings and regulatory compliance across US and Canadian jurisdictions end-to-end, handling annual reports and state requests independently.
- Brand protection: Monitor Jerry's intellectual property, identify infringements, and execute cease-and-desist workflows.
- Consumer escalations: Investigate complex customer escalations to root cause, recommend systemic fixes, and develop compliance training for cross-functional teams.
- Product compliance reviews: Assess products and processes for compliance risk and user friction; collaborate with Engineering and Product to resolve underlying issues.
- Compliance audits: Lead operational audits and maintain oversight of high-risk areas between audit cycles.
You will thrive in this role if you are a natural driver who owns projects from conception to completion, solves ambiguous problems independently, and combines meticulous attention to detail with a builder's mindset. The role balances strategic project work (legal research, automation design) with recurring operational excellence (filings, deadlines, audits). You'll work alongside leaders from Amazon, LinkedIn, McKinsey, BCG, and Bain, and advancement is based purely on performance and ownership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an academically rigorous program with a strong academic record.
- Demonstrated track record of owning projects start-to-finish and solving problems without explicit guidance, whether at school, work, or independently.
- Genuine interest in using AI and technology to improve work processes—evidence of building a tool, automation, or process improvement is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity: take an unclear brief, define the problem yourself, and execute with urgency.
- Strong organizational discipline: track every open item to completion, maintain systems to prevent missed deadlines, and communicate proactively without being prompted.
- Comfort with both strategic and operational work; ability to balance building new systems with executing recurring compliance tasks with zero-error precision.
