Salary: EUR 130,000 - 160,000 / annual
Airbnb's Cities team is seeking a Senior Compliance Lead for EMEA to own the company's platform regulatory compliance program across Europe and the UK. This role is accountable for a rapidly expanding portfolio of regulations including the Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, and related obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and establish operating processes, documentation, and monitoring systems for the EMEA compliance portfolio at scale
- Deliver regulatory reporting and submissions across an annual and ad hoc calendar, meeting deadlines while continuously improving defensibility and efficiency
- Identify new and changing regulatory obligations early, assess organizational readiness, and recommend required measures
- Translate regulatory requirements into scalable product, engineering, and data solutions; partner with Product and Engineering teams to shape roadmaps and validate outcomes
- Serve as trusted advisor to Legal, Policy, and Product leadership on regulatory compliance strategy and execution
- Manage regulator relationships and recurring reporting cycles
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, compliance program management, or regulatory operations, preferably in technology platforms or highly regulated industries
- Proven track record owning multi-jurisdiction, cross-functional compliance programs end-to-end
- Direct experience with Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act
- Hands-on experience with recurring regulator-facing reporting cycles and relationship management
- Track record partnering with Product and Engineering to deliver regulatory requirements into live products
- Data fluency to define, own, and defend reporting methodologies to auditors and regulators
- Familiarity with regulatory technology and automation tools
- Strategic mindset connecting regulatory requirements to long-term business objectives
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to transform ambiguity into clarity
- Strong analytical skills and ability to design operational structures balancing compliance, risk, and scalability
- Proven leadership experience growing and coaching high-performing, diverse teams; comfortable leading through influence and structure
