Salary: USD 220,000 - 320,000 / annual

Harvey's Legal Engineering team comprises former practicing attorneys who drive value across the entire customer lifecycle. The function is segmented into three specialized teams:
**Legal Engineer (Pre-Sales)**: Work closely with Account Executives to engage leading law firms and legal teams. Lead collaborative pilot programs, guide prospects through AI capabilities, and help lawyers understand workflows and build tailored solutions. Translate prospect feedback into product improvements.
**Legal Engineer, Product Specialist (Post-Sales)**: Own the customer journey from onboarding through ongoing enablement. Build trusted relationships with legal teams, learn their workflows, and integrate Harvey into daily practice. Sit down with practice groups to build agents on real matters. Translate legal practice needs into actionable product feedback and contribute to customer-facing content.
**Legal Engineer, Custom Solutions (Pre- and Post-Sale)**: Specialize in complex no-code custom solutions. Meet with group heads and general counsel to understand key processes. Design bespoke resources—agents, playbooks, tools—that improve quality, speed, and experience. Work collaboratively to scope, prototype, and refine solutions with customers. Most work is post-sale, with strategic pre-sale advisory support.
You'll travel 2-3+ times per month for significant business needs (typically 1-3 days per trip). During your initial interview, you'll learn about all three roles and identify the best fit based on your background and current hiring needs.

**Requirements:**
- JD or equivalent legal qualification
- 3+ years practicing law in-house, at a top-tier law firm, or advising a sophisticated corporate legal team
- Strong understanding of in-house legal team workflows, challenges, and demands, including balancing legal risk with business priorities
- Executive presence and relationship-building skills; ability to establish credibility with legal and business stakeholders at all levels
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading live demos, facilitating workshops, and engaging in strategic customer conversations
- Deep curiosity about AI's potential to transform legal work, paired with practical, solutions-oriented mindset and bias toward action
- Track record partnering with senior stakeholders to drive results, with curiosity for testing approaches and optimizing for customer outcomes
- Plus factors: cross-functional experience (business, ops, compliance, product), sales/customer-facing experience (law firm BD, secondment), and/or hands-on experience using AI tools in legal practice
