You will join the Legal Engineering team at the intersection of product development and applied legal AI, working directly with the Product team to define best practices for a rapidly evolving field. This is a judgment-focused role, not administrative: you will vet the Skills Library and all Legal Engineering outputs before they go live, ensuring consistency and excellence across practice-area workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hands-on review of skills, workflows, and use cases against quality standards before launch
- Research and experimentation with prompting techniques, skill patterns, and emerging AI methods, translating findings into company-wide best practices
- Authoring reference use cases that exemplify excellence and serve as templates for the broader team
- Close collaboration with Product on new capabilities: early testing, first best practices, and structured feedback from real-world use
- Creating technical onboarding materials and training resources for Legal Engineers in your region
- Broadcasting new best practices, exemplars, and platform changes to the global Legal Engineering team
- Supporting high-profile CEO and C-suite demos at industry events (use case preparation, fixtures, rehearsal)
- Overseeing quality and currency of use case and skills libraries across regions
- Approximately 30% of time spent on live client work, selected for strategic learning value
You will see and vet more legal AI use cases in one year than most industry professionals encounter in a career, working alongside some of the best legal engineers in the field. This role is positioned to grow into owning applied AI knowledge globally as the discipline matures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified lawyer with solid practice experience at a leading law firm or in-house legal team (or equivalent substantive background)
- Real technical prowess: comfortable with code or scripting (bootcamp or self-taught backgrounds fully acceptable); fluent in how AI tools actually behave
- Heavy, habitual user of AI tools, ideally legal AI, with sharp discernment in prompt and use case evaluation; able to rank prompts, articulate differences, and improve them
- Demonstrated pride in the craft of prompting and use case design; positioned as a reference point for excellence
- Rigorous review discipline: line-by-line verification against source material, with judgment about when not to use AI
- Comfortable managing high-throughput workstreams: strong triage, multi-threading, and process-building skills
- Strong plus: experience building skills, workflows, or automations in a legal AI platform
- Good to have: M&A, transactional background, or deal coordination experience
