ARX Robotics is seeking a Senior Legal Manager to serve as the primary legal professional within Corporate Services, guiding the company through the complex legal landscape of autonomous ground systems and defence technology.
In this role, you will initially be the sole legal professional, handling legal work directly and engaging external counsel as needed. You'll work closely with engineering and business teams to ensure sound legal decisions underpin all operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and negotiating contracts with government customers, partners, suppliers, and contractors, including counterparty due diligence and legal review
- Developing legal positions for claims and litigation, establishing contract management policies, procedures, and power of attorney templates
- Establishing regulatory pathways for military and dual-use goods: classifying technologies, preparing documentation, and coordinating permits and licences with the State Service of Export Control of Ukraine and other regulators
- Supporting international and intragroup transfers of equipment, components, and technologies, advising on customs, foreign exchange, and technology-transfer risks
- Supporting corporate decisions through accurate documentation, constitutional amendments, and intragroup agreements, liaising with notaries and state registrars
- Structuring ownership rights to local engineering developments, including product upgrades, integration, and adaptation
- Strengthening anti-corruption procedures and defence procurement compliance, identifying and escalating conflicts of interest and contractual risks
- Guiding responses to government, law enforcement, and regulatory requests, and providing legal support during audits
- Supporting HR with employment and personnel administration, identifying legal risks as the company scales
- Supporting military registration and employee reservation processes, including arrangements for deferral from mobilisation
ARX Robotics specializes in developing autonomous unmanned systems and sensors for the European defence sector. The company operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an international team focused on solving challenging problems for NATO armies and civilian first responders.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in similar legal roles
- Proven hands-on experience with export controls and military and/or dual-use goods (essential)
- Experience managing contracts with government customers, including claims handling and litigation
- University degree in law
- Experience working with government, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities
- Readiness to work independently as the sole legal professional initially, handling day-to-day tasks without direct reports
