Tines, founded in 2018 with co-headquarters in Dublin and Boston, is an intelligent workflow platform that powers critical business processes for companies including Canva, Databricks, Elastic, Kayak, Intercom, and McKesson. The platform applies AI, automation, and integration to drive real business results, serving customers from startups to public companies. Tines is seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its growing global Legal team. This is a remote role based in Ireland with occasional travel to Dublin and other Tines locations. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be a key legal partner to the global Sales organization, supporting commercial transactions across EMEA and the United States. You will work closely with the existing Legal team, Sales leaders, Sales teams, Deal Desk, Customer Success, Partnerships, Finance, and Security. This is a commercial, sales-driven role where you will independently lead customer negotiations, provide practical and timely advice, and help the business close deals while appropriately managing legal risk. Key responsibilities include: leading negotiations for customer agreements across EMEA and the United States (SaaS agreements, software licensing, DPAs, security terms, SOWs, NDAs); partnering with Sales leaders and Deal Desk to support transactions from initial review through signature; providing practical, risk-based advice on liability, indemnification, intellectual property, privacy, security, and service commitments; reviewing and negotiating reseller, referral, integration, and technology alliance agreements; collaborating with Finance, Security, Customer Success, and Product teams; developing and maintaining templates, playbooks, and Sales enablement materials; helping improve and scale contracting processes; and supporting broader Legal team initiatives. Requirements: - 5–8 years of relevant legal experience, including 3–5 years' post-qualification experience - Qualification as a solicitor or lawyer in Ireland, England and Wales, or another relevant EU jurisdiction - Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology agreements - Direct experience supporting Sales teams and managing customer negotiations - Strong understanding of legal issues affecting SaaS and software transactions - Excellent commercial judgment and pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach - Ability to distinguish material legal risks from issues resolvable through practical compromise - Ability to manage multiple negotiations and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment - Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills - Comfort operating autonomously within a distributed, international organization - Authorization to work in Ireland - Alignment with Tines' values of speed, simplicity, and soundness Helpful experience: - Previous in-house experience at a SaaS, software, cybersecurity, or technology company - Experience supporting commercial teams across EMEA and the United States - Experience with self-hosted software, regulated customers, or complex security requirements - Experience negotiating reseller, referral, integration, or partner agreements - Practical knowledge of GDPR and international data transfers - Familiarity with AI products and associated commercial, privacy, and intellectual property issues
