As Commercial Legal Counsel for EMEA, you will support the legal team in Bynder's fastest-growing region. You will report to the Senior Commercial Legal Counsel EMEA and work alongside a team of two Senior Legal Counsels and one Senior Paralegal in the region, plus two Senior Legal Counsels in the US.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating SaaS commercial contracts for the Sales Team, balancing commercial needs with legal protection
- Participating in vendor agreement negotiations to secure favorable terms and ensure compliance
- Providing timely legal guidance to the Customer Success Team to enhance customer relationships
- Streamlining legal processes and compliance frameworks, leveraging AI tools for operational efficiency
- Monitoring regulatory developments in SaaS and AI sectors across EMEA jurisdictions
- Providing general legal advice to various business functions and strategic initiatives
You will be expected to enable business growth while safeguarding Bynder's interests and compliance in a rapidly scaling SaaS environment.
Requirements:
- Law degree from a highly regarded university, qualified to practice as in-house counsel in the EMEA region
- 2-4 years of combined experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department (SaaS industry experience preferred but not required)
- Excellent knowledge of civil, commercial, and contract law
- Native or fluent English (written and verbal)
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze legal risks and provide reasoned legal advice
- Experience working with AI tools to enhance legal processes
- Sound, practical business judgment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercially oriented, rapidly scaling technology company
- Demonstrated autonomy and ability to prioritize deadlines
- Bonus: Fluency in Dutch or additional European language skills
