Antithesis is seeking a Legal Counsel to serve as a key legal partner supporting the company's growth. The company builds a deterministic simulation platform that identifies bugs in software systems, helping engineering teams debug faster and ship with confidence. Antithesis is well-funded, deeply technical, and headquartered in Northern Virginia with satellite offices in London, San Francisco, and Singapore.
In this role, you will cover a broad range of legal matters at the intersection of law, product, and business strategy. You will review and negotiate vendor and procurement agreements (software, cloud infrastructure, professional services), working with finance to streamline purchasing processes. You will draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements including SaaS contracts, order forms, and amendments, advising sales and finance on deal structure and risk allocation. You will lead the company's privacy work, including policies and vendor privacy review, and advise on regulatory and compliance matters. You will support international subsidiaries on commercial, corporate, and local compliance matters, coordinating with outside counsel in relevant jurisdictions. You will draft, maintain, and roll out internal policies to help the company scale responsibly. You will create templates, playbooks, and approval processes that bring consistency and speed to recurring contract and privacy issues. You will provide business-focused legal advice on general corporate matters that enables thoughtful decision-making across the company.
Success means customer deals move at the pace the business needs without taking on unintended risk, vendor contracts are turned around promptly with appropriate privacy and security protections, international subsidiaries remain in good standing with responsive support, employees have clear and practical internal policies, and stakeholders across the company view Legal as a partner that helps them get to yes while protecting the company.
You should be comfortable handling commercial and privacy issues, partnering with senior stakeholders, and balancing speed, judgment, and rigor in a fast-moving environment. You will work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners including sales, finance, and operations teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- J.D. and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; candidates should be barred in Virginia or able to qualify as a Part I Corporate Counsel in Virginia
- 5-10 combined years of experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house
- Significant experience handling commercial transactions with a strong mix of vendor-side and customer-facing contracting
- Hands-on experience with privacy matters (privacy policies, data processing agreements, vendor privacy review) and working knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, and U.S. state privacy laws
- Experience supporting international subsidiaries or cross-border matters, including managing outside counsel abroad (a plus)
- Experience drafting and implementing internal company policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader business context
- Ability to distinguish between theoretical risk and real business risk
- Comfort moving between customer negotiations, privacy questions, and subsidiary matters in the same day
- Interest in designing repeatable legal processes, not just handling one-off matters
