Instructure is seeking a Strategic Learning Consultant to join its Professional Services team. In this role, you will partner with educational institutions and businesses to maximize their use of Instructure products—including Canvas, Canvas Career, and Impact—through strategic planning, customized consultation, training, and hands-on coaching.
You will work directly with project sponsors, leaders, instructional designers, and staff to help organizations achieve their instructional goals and drive platform adoption. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and execute communication, training, and engagement plans
- Acting as a change agent to support implementation of the organization's vision for Instructure products
- Using data and inquiry processes to analyze challenges, apply targeted strategies, and elevate teaching and learning outcomes
- Mentoring and motivating organizational leaders, faculty, designers, and staff on Canvas and other Instructure tools
- Listening to organizational needs and delivering tailored solutions, including adoption resources, model courses, and key deliverables
- Planning and conducting product training and consulting sessions with strong organizational and facilitation skills
- Connecting product usage to instructional best practices for learners
- Following up after consulting sessions to monitor progress and ensure success
- Preparing and delivering training materials, course content, and presentations customized to each organization
- Identifying areas where additional support or consulting is needed
- Traveling to client sites as needed to support product rollouts
You will demonstrate exceptional customer service, strong executive presence, and the ability to build and maintain relationships across all organizational levels. The role requires creativity, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in high-pressure, ambiguous environments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of teaching or consulting experience, including work with digital learning environments
- Minimum 2 years of Canvas experience required (more preferred), with demonstrated ability to create engaging, responsive, and inclusive Canvas courses; additional experience with Studio, Catalog, Credentials, or Impact is a plus
- Minimum 1 year in an educational leadership position overseeing a team that supports learning and assessment management systems for pedagogical purposes (more preferred)
- Proven experience leading organizational change, building strong relationships, designing effective professional development programs, and rolling out technology platforms at scale
- Current knowledge of technology adoption strategies, professional development protocols, and educational technology best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology or equivalent; Master's degree in Educational Leadership or Instructional Technology preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with impeccable executive presence
- Strong presentation skills in educational settings; ability to deliver engaging, relevant consulting sessions
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure environments with ambiguity
- Willingness to travel to client sites; future assignments may require extended onsite engagements in other locations
