TRM Labs is an AI-powered intelligence platform helping public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM Academy is building a training and certification program to teach law enforcement, regulators, financial institutions, and crypto businesses to detect, investigate, and disrupt crypto-enabled crime. As an Instructional Designer on TRM Academy, you will design and build courses, certifications, and learning paths that translate the expertise of TRM's intelligence, policy, and compliance teams into published, assessment-backed training. You will work across self-paced courses, live sessions, product documentation, and multiple languages. Key responsibilities: 1. Design learning pathways for diverse audiences—investigators, compliance teams, regulators—turning the Academy's catalog into clear progression routes through self-paced courses, live sessions, and scenario-based assessments. 2. Own accuracy and defensibility of TRM's certifications. Run the review cycle for certification programs, routing content and exam items to subject-matter experts for sign-off, verifying figures and citations against sources, and updating courses when source material changes. 3. Coach subject-matter experts with editorial feedback to transform their expertise into clear, well-built courses, hands-on exercises, and trainer toolkits for live delivery. 4. Co-own product documentation and training across TRM's platforms, keeping help content, onboarding, and product training accurate and aligned with releases. 5. Manage localization workflows: oversee first-draft translation, native-speaker review, and SME sign-off for technical and regulatory material across multiple languages. 6. Build reusable AI workflows that the Academy adopts, measuring both build-time savings and learner outcomes. You will draft with AI and own the verification step to ensure no unsupported figures, sources, or regulatory details reach learners. You will join a distributed, mission-driven team that values speed, high build quality, and measurable impact through education. The role requires intellectual rigor—keeping curriculum accurate across crypto, compliance, and investigations while designing valid assessments for certifications that regulators and banks rely on. The team operates with async-first communication and Slack-based collaboration, with regular syncs and content-review rhythms tied to launch windows. Minimal travel required; no onsite requirements. Expected impact milestones: Within 30 days, scope and stand up a V1 course using AI to draft slides, workbooks, and assessments. Within 60 days, ship a reusable AI item-generation workflow with source verification that at least one other Academy team member adopts. Within 90 days, publish mission-practice or certification content end-to-end with measurable results and standardize the build process. REQUIREMENTS: - 3 to 5+ years of instructional design or curriculum development for adult learners, with a portfolio of published, assessment-backed courses - Experience building on an LMS and writing valid assessments and item banks - Ability to translate technical subject-matter content into curriculum; crypto, blockchain, compliance, or financial-crime familiarity is a strong plus - Production AI fluency: daily use of AI to draft content, generate assessment items, and speed up build and research workflows - Readiness to build reusable AI workflows others adopt, including item generation checked against source and module-versus-new-intelligence comparisons, with ownership of the human verification step - Excellent written communication and track record owning courses end-to-end as the single accountable owner
