Loft Orbital is seeking a Test Platform Engineer to serve as the technical owner of the end-to-end Test Platform environment supporting spacecraft integration, verification, validation, and manufacturing operations.
This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role with responsibility for architecting, developing, integrating, deploying, operating, and continuously improving spacecraft Test Stations, Test Benches, SIL/HIL environments, and associated EGSE/SCOE (Ground Support Equipment/Support of Checkout Equipment). The role spans hardware, software, Linux infrastructure, networking, instrumentation, spacecraft interfaces, electrical/RF GSE, and test automation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams across Systems, AIT, Software, Avionics, Electrical, RF/Payload, Design, D2M, and Industrial Operations
- Transitioning from program-specific test setups toward reusable, configurable, reliable, maintainable, and scalable Test Platforms
- Supporting increasing spacecraft production capacity through platform standardization
- Collaborating with Infrastructure and Program teams on deployment and operational excellence
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in test platform architecture, spacecraft integration workflows, and the ability to bridge hardware and software domains. Experience with EGSE/SCOE development, SIL/HIL simulation environments, and test automation frameworks is essential. This role requires someone comfortable operating hands-on while also guiding technical strategy and mentoring cross-functional teams.
