Amca is building America's new industrial base by rapidly developing and manufacturing critical components and subsystems for aviation and military platforms. The company operates seven factories nationwide and delivers avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, and M1 Abrams. The Lead Test Engineer owns test engineering strategy and execution across fluids (hydraulic, pneumatic, propulsion component) and mechanical (structural, prototype-to-production) test programs. This role bridges design and proof for the team's full testing scope while leading and developing the engineers who carry out that work. Key responsibilities include: owning testing processes, hardware, and procedures across prototype qualification and production acceptance testing; developing test methodology aligned with industry standards (DO-160, MIL-STD); establishing company-wide testing and design policies; designing and managing test stand infrastructure including test rigs, fixtures, and fluid loops; specifying instrumentation and data acquisition systems for flow, pressure, temperature, and structural measurement; leading flow, pressure, leakage, proof, burst, endurance, environmental, and structural assembly testing; reducing and analyzing test data with uncertainty quantification; authoring test reports and leading root cause analysis; and setting technical direction for fluids and mechanical test engineers through review, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, or materials engineering; 5+ years of test engineering experience spanning fluids and mechanical/structural hardware; experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers; hands-on experience with test rig design, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems; strong foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals; strong understanding of fluid measurement and uncertainty analysis; and experience planning and executing qualification test campaigns. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, people management experience in engineering, GD&T proficiency, experience with LabVIEW/Python/MATLAB, familiarity with DO-160 and MIL-STD methods, experience testing servo valves and high-pressure systems, Siemens NX proficiency, and experience across multiple manufacturing sites.
