Bitwarden is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Privileged Access Management (PAM) team in Noida, India. This role focuses on designing and developing next-generation privileged access platform components, including gateway services, terminal access protocols, and auditing/enforcement mechanisms. You will own critical services end-to-end—from initial design and secure development through automated testing, deployment, and operational health in production. The role emphasizes a "T-shaped" engineering model where you maintain strict service boundaries, design resilient APIs, and ensure the PAM platform operates as an independent, decoupled tenant on core infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: - Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating secure gateway controls, audited terminal logins, and session recording for the PAM product line - Maintaining decoupled architecture with resilient APIs and service boundaries - Collaborating in cross-functional "Embedded Trio" teams (Product, Design, Engineering) to rapidly design and validate solutions - Building robust automated test suites, integration harnesses, and CI/CD pipelines - Owning operational health, performance, and reliability telemetry in production - Creating high-quality internal architecture specifications and external open-source documentation Required experience includes 10-15 years as a Software Engineer with team lead experience. You should have strong proficiency in C#/.NET, Rust, or TypeScript, with practical experience designing secure gateway architectures, reverse proxies, and session proxying (SSH, RDP, HTTPS). Security domain expertise in Identity and Access Management, key-rotation protocols, and audit logging is essential. Additional strengths include containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes), automated testing frameworks, SRE/observability tools, zero-trust security architectures, and open-source contributions.
