Revolut is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Java) to join the SSO (Single Sign-On) team, responsible for building secure, reliable, and scalable authentication systems across the Revolut ecosystem. This is a backend-focused role within the Technology team that powers Revolut's financial super app serving 75+ million customers globally.
You will develop and maintain microservices that form the backbone of Revolut's infrastructure, focusing on authentication frameworks, risk management, fraud detection, and payment processing systems. The role emphasizes clean, maintainable code delivered through test-driven development (TDD), domain-driven design (DDD), and continuous integration/delivery practices.
The tech stack includes Java 17/21, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, PostgreSQL, Redis, Spock, jOOQ, and Flyway. You'll work on both greenfield development and improvements to existing systems, collaborating with a global team of 13,000+ employees across offices and remote locations.
Required qualifications: 6+ years of backend development experience, fluency in Java, bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or related field, strong communication skills, and English fluency. Nice-to-have skills include experience with Kotlin or Scala, fintech background, startup/scale-up experience, and product-focused environments.
