Corelight defends the world's most sensitive networks—from global commerce to national defense—by transforming digital footprints from physical, virtual, and cloud networks into actionable security insights. The company uses open-source innovations and agentic AI technology to help security teams detect advanced threats with unprecedented clarity.
As Lead Software Engineer for the Fleet team, you will set the technical direction for the frontend that security teams use to operate fleets of Corelight sensors (sometimes hundreds at a time) and act on configuration, lifecycle, and operational data. You'll bridge sophisticated REST and GraphQL APIs with intuitive interfaces, partnering closely with a Lead Backend Engineer and dedicated UX designer.
Key responsibilities include: driving end-to-end frontend architecture and the long-term technical roadmap for the Fleet Manager UI; co-owning the user experience by translating high-fidelity wireframes into accessible, performant interfaces; building for operational scale to handle hundreds of concurrent live sensors; stewarding the design system and component library; providing technical leadership and mentorship to scale the frontend team; leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools while maintaining rigorous quality standards; embedding security-first practices including RBAC enforcement and XSS mitigation; collaborating with backend engineers on API contract design; and owning features completely from design through production with automated testing, CI/CD, and accessibility checks.
You should embody low-ego results, tireless service, and applied curiosity. You have strong product and user empathy, systems thinking across enterprise-scale applications, decisive problem-solving in ambiguous situations, and strategic communication skills to influence product direction and align distributed teams.
Required: 8+ years professional software development experience with a track record in senior, staff, or lead frontend roles. Elite-level expertise in TypeScript, React, and the modern frontend ecosystem including advanced state management and build tooling.
