Wispr AI is building the voice interface for computing. The company's first products—Flow (natural voice interaction in any application) and Notetaker (context-building across conversations)—represent a shift toward AI systems that can perceive, understand, and act with earned trust.
As Lead SDET, you will own the quality practice behind Flow. You'll build reliable automation across desktop, mobile, backend services, and integrations, choosing the right mix of unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage. You'll make regression testing continuous by partnering with engineering to run automated checks against internal builds, integrate them into CI/CD, and establish dependable release gates.
Beyond automation, you'll personally explore real-world voice workflows—testing permissions, device and network changes, cross-app behavior, and updates to catch usability and consistency issues alongside functional bugs. You'll own release confidence by prioritizing testing by risk, investigating failures, and using test results, telemetry, and customer impact to make clear release recommendations.
You'll bring quality into development by working with engineering, product, design, and support from planning through launch, turning requirements, incidents, and escaped defects into better coverage. As a hands-on leader, you'll set standards, coach the QA team and testing partners, coordinate coverage, and remain personally involved in driving testing.
The role demands an experienced quality engineer who has owned testing for complex software and built or maintained automated suites that teams rely on. You should be a capable programmer able to write readable test code, build fixtures and test harnesses, debug failures, and keep automation reliable in CI. You're a systems thinker who reasons across clients, APIs, operating systems, and integrations, knowing where mocks help and where real devices and end-to-end checks are essential. You're an incisive investigator who turns vague reports into reproducible bugs, uses logs and evidence to isolate causes, and distinguishes product failures from test or environment failures. Product-mindedness and attention to detail matter—you care about usability, responsiveness, accessibility, and trust, and know which risks matter most to users. Finally, you're a hands-on leader who communicates clearly, coaches others, and builds useful processes in a fast-moving team.
Experience with native apps, audio, speech recognition, or AI output evaluation is a plus.
