Motive is seeking a Lead, Safety and Compliance Strategy to drive thought leadership and strategic growth in the fleet safety and compliance space. This role bridges internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to shape Motive's safety and compliance positioning.
Key responsibilities include:
**Sales Development & Strategy**: Identify high-potential verticals (waste, oil/gas, trucking, services, transit, government) and develop growth recommendations. Collaborate with sales teams to incorporate safety best practices into sales initiatives, develop competitive positioning, and guide product roadmap alignment. Support enterprise prospects with safety and compliance guidance, and develop sales collateral highlighting Motive's safety commitment.
**Professional Services Integration**: Partner with the Professional Services team to embed safety and compliance best practices into client engagements. Support complex enterprise fleet deployments by conducting discovery, developing customized onboarding plans, and coordinating stakeholder touchpoints (driver communication, supervisor training, installation, HR implications). Deliver value-added services including program customization, communication templates, hardware installation planning, user training, and KPI scoping.
**Brand & Regulatory Advocacy**: Build Motive's thought leadership through conference speaking engagements, safety bootcamps, podcasts, articles, and other channels. Represent Motive at industry trade associations (American Trucking Associations, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, Canadian Trucking Alliance, National Private Truck Council, state/national associations) to strengthen brand awareness and drive regulatory and legislative advocacy.
Required qualifications: 10+ years in fleet safety industry, 5+ years with safety/fleet management telematics technology, experience in transportation segments (waste, oil/gas, trucking, services, transit, government), proven track record developing and implementing risk and safety programs that reduce injuries and costs, working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and FMCSR regulations, and experience in safety program development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
