Asana is seeking a Lead Product Manager to build and scale its next major business line: Enterprise Services Management (ESM), powered by AI agents and integrated with Asana's Work Graph. This is a 0→1 opportunity to define how IT, HR, and Support teams resolve work, automate workflows, and connect tickets to projects in a modern, AI-native platform.
You will drive the strategy and product vision for Asana's ESM business, including defining a 3-year product strategy, establishing differentiation through AI agents and automations, and determining Asana's competitive advantage. You'll spend significant time with customers validating pain points, co-developing workflows, and translating insights into clear MVP scope and measurable outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and launching an AI-native MVP that solves real customer problems, collaborating closely with engineering, design, and UXR to create reliable, technical AI systems
- Driving cross-functional go-to-market strategy with Sales, Channel, PMM, and Customer Success on positioning, pricing, packaging, and early lighthouse accounts
- Operating with startup-level hustle and high velocity, breaking down ambiguous problems, shipping iteratively, and learning from real usage
- Translating customer needs into compelling product roadmaps and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions
The role is based in Asana's San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in-office are standard; Wednesdays are typically work-from-home; Fridays depend on team and work type.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of Product Management experience with demonstrated success building AI-driven platforms, automation systems, service workflows, or enterprise SaaS products
- Experience with multi-agent systems, LLM-powered workflows, or AI operations is a plus
- Strong 0→1 builder who has built and scaled new products or incubations before; operates with urgency, resourcefulness, and creativity through ambiguity
- Technical systems thinker comfortable going deep on architecture, flows, and tradeoffs with engineering; able to reason about integrations, identity systems, workflow engines, and AI agent behavior
- Customer-centric mindset; thrives in customer conversations and translates qualitative insights into sharp product decisions
- Commercially and GTM savvy; comfortable in customer pitches, channel partner discussions, and pricing conversations; skilled at positioning and selling into mid-market and enterprise
- Exceptional communicator with crisp writing, clear storytelling, and ability to persuade across engineering, design, sales, and executive stakeholders
- Growth mindset and AI-first thinker; curious, adaptable, and eager to leverage emerging technologies
