Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility. The company is scaling production of its Electric Propulsion System (EPS)—comprising electric motors, inverters, and propeller assemblies—one of the most technically demanding, highly automated manufacturing systems in the factory.
You will lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team ranging from Associate to Senior Engineers, providing technical mentorship and fostering growth in a fast-paced environment. You'll own the full lifecycle of major capital expenditure projects ($10M+), from factory layout and equipment sourcing through commissioning and production handover. As the subject matter expert for Battery/HVPS assembly or Electric Drive Units (EDU), you'll oversee complex processes including stator manufacturing, gearbox assembly, and end-of-line testing.
Your core responsibilities include bridging design and production by leading the transition from concept to high-volume manufacturing while maintaining agility to design production lines "at risk" as product specifications are finalized. You'll optimize for aggressive production targets in a high-cadence environment, solving continuous improvement challenges and managing vendor relationships and internal stakeholders to ensure capacity increases stay on track and on budget.
You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent) and 7+ years of experience in EV or aerospace manufacturing with deep technical knowledge of battery/HVPS assembly or electric drive units. Proven track record managing large-scale CapEx projects, leading multi-level engineering teams, and working "at risk" in concurrent engineering cycles is essential. You should thrive in high-pressure environments and demonstrate technical agility in complex, emerging manufacturing domains.
